Russian (lazy) Cabbage Pie

How To Cook Lazy Cabbage Pie

  • Start with preparing all ingredients.
  • Preparing filling:
  • Chop the cabbage with a knife or use mandoline slicer.
  • Take a frying pan pour 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil then put the cabbage there.
  • I like to add a bunch of dill for a better test.
  • Cover frying pan with lid and fry for 10-15 min until ready then leave it aside and let it cool down.
  • Preparing batter:
  • Bring to the bowl: eggs, sour cream, salt, sugar then mix everything together with a whisk.
  • Add flour and baking powder, then stir it well using a whisk.
  • Bake cabbage pie:
  • Preheat the oven to 350F preparing a baking dish and line with parchment paper.
  • Pour half of batter to the baking dish then place the cabbage filling and pour of the rest of the batter on a top.
  • Personally, I like to decorate a pie for a beautiful looking. This step is optional.
  • Place to the oven and bake 30-40 minutes, until toothpick is dry.
