Pancake Battered Fried Fish

Pancake Battered Fried Fish uses pancake mix to make fish fry batter for deep fried fish. You can use Wild Salmon, Cod, Pollock or any other fish. How To Cook Pancake Battered Fried Fish

I love to start each and every recipe by preparing the ingredients I need for it. In this case, it’s pretty simple. I’ve got everything you need shown in the photos bellow. For this recipe I take filet of wild salmon fish but you can use Cot, Pollack etc…

  • Preparing marinade
  • Cut fish in pieces and place in a bowl.
  • Add to the bowl vegetable oil, salt, pepper, seasoning for fish, sugar, lemon juice.
  • Mix it well all together.
  • Leave it aside for 30 minutes.
  • Preparing batter
  • Take the eggs and separate the whites from the yolks.
  • Beat the whites until firm peaks.
  • In a separate bowl mix egg yolks, milk, salt, flour, baking powder, then in a two steps add fluffy whites, mix it well.
  • Fry fish
  • Preheat skillet with vegetable oil. Oil need to be cover the bottom of skillet.
  • Take the peace of fish and dip into batter (I use two forks to do that), then place on the skillet.
  • Fry 3-4 minutes each side, until golden brown.

Tips

  • Don’t overcrowd the pot. Fry them off about 4-5 pieces at a time. Fry for about three or four minutes or until they are lightly golden.
  • Remove from oil and transfer to a paper-towel to absorb the excess oil. Keep fried fish in a single layer.

Ingredients

  • For marinade:

  • 800 g filet fish (Salmon, Cod, Pollack…)

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp sugar

  • 1/2 tsp pepper

  • 1/2 lemon of juice

  • 1 tsp seasoning for fish

  • For batter

  • 160 g flour

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • salt to test
